Chandigarh: Chandigarh suffered a heavy innings-and-56-run defeat to Saurashtra on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium Saturday.After opting to field, Saurashtra took control early, bowling out the hosts for 136 in the first innings. The visitors then consolidated their dominance with a commanding 453 for 3 declared.Chandigarh showed some resistance in their second innings, but disciplined spells from Dharmendrasinh Jadeja (4/53) and Chirag Jani (4/78) ensured Saurashtra wrapped up the match comfortably, dismissing the home side for 261. Rajangad Bawa top-scored with 55, while Shivam Bhambari (48) and Vaibhav Narang (47) contributed useful knocks.
