Haryana approves policy to regularise illegal industrial plot sub-divisions
Chandigarh: In a major relief for industrial plot owners, the Haryana cabinet on Monday approved a policy for fresh sub-division of industrial plots and regularisation of existing illegally sub-divided plots located in rehabilitation scheme areas within municipal limits. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh.According to the policy, it will apply to industrial plots situated in rehabilitation scheme areas developed by the Union ministry of rehabilitation. The move aims to streamline industrial land use and provide legal status to plots that were earlier sub-divided without approval.Under the new norms, the original industrial plot must measure at least one acre and should have access through an existing road with a minimum width of 12 metres. Each newly sub-divided plot must also not be smaller than 500 square yards. The policy further mandates provision of parking facilities within the premises in accordance with the Haryana Building Code-2017.Applications for fresh sub-division or regularisation of illegally divided plots will have to be submitted to the concerned municipal authorities. The competent authority has been directed to decide applications within 60 days.Applicants will also have to comply with directions issued from time to time by the National Green Tribunal and the Haryana State Pollution Control Board.
