Haryana CM’s nod to proposal for increasing pension of journalists
Chandigarh: The Haryana government has increased the pension of the accredited media personnel under the Journalist Pension Scheme. The proposal to this effect was cleared by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday.
Additional principal secretary to the CM and director general, information, public relations, language and culture department, Dr Amit Agrawal said the chief minister had accorded approval to a proposal for an annual increase in the pension amount.

“Now pension amount of journalists will be increased in proportion to the increase in DA according to the norms fixed by the central government,” he said. Agrawal said on October 26, 2017, the CM had started the Journalist Pension Scheme, under which a monthly pension was being given to accredited media personnel above the age of 60. A journalist must have 20 years of experience and must have media accreditation given by the state government for a period of at least five years, he said. tnn
