CHANDIGARH: Former chief minister and leader of opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the BJP-JJP government is not only playing with the future of the
Haryana’s youth who are facing maximum unemployment in the country, but is also doing corruption with them.
Addressing a press conference at his residence in Chandigarh with state president Udaybhan and many Congress MLAs, Hooda said that about 2 lakh government posts are lying vacant in Haryana and the state is facing severe unemployment.
"But instead of making permanent recruitment against these posts, the government is continuously carrying out scams in the name of recruitment. The government has made HPSC and HSSC den of corruption. New methods of paper leaks are being adopted by the government," he said.
He added that in the recent HCS exam conducted by HPSC, 32 questions were exactly copied from last year's paper. In veterinary recruitment too, 24 questions were copied from a recruitment exam held in Maharashtra in the year 2017. This has become a new way of getting papers leaked. In this government, scams are happening in the recruitment from Group-D to HCS.
"Earlier, the Deputy Secretary of HPSC was caught in his office with a bribe of 1 crore. In such a situation, it is necessary that the government dissolves these recruiting organizations and conducts a high-level impartial inquiry into the matter, but instead of getting this done, the government is involved in saving the culprits," he added.
Hooda also raised the issue of non-availability of toilets in state run schools, especially for girl. "Today the situation is such that there are neither teachers to teach in the schools nor basic facilities for the children. Today 538 schools in the state do not even have toilets for girls. There are 1047 schools where there is no toilet even for boys. There is no drinking water in 131 schools and electricity in 236 schools in the state. There is no boundary wall in 321 schools," he pointed out.
"A budget of 1784 crores is needed for these arrangements in schools. While the government has given a budget of only 424 crores for the year 2023-24, which is Rs 1360 crores less than the requirement. It is surprising that the budget given to them is also not being utilized fully. Every time a large part of the budget lapses," he stated.
