CHANDIGARH: Ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, the Indian National Lokdal (INLD) has sounded the poll bugle through mobile phones. The INLD has asked all its leaders and workers to use party's songs as their caller tunes on cellphones. Elections are likely to be held in the state by September-end. Most of these caller tunes are composed to eulogize the party's superemo and former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, who is in jail after his conviction in the teachers recruitment scam.
MLA Rampal Majra, the organizing secretary of INLD, said these caller tunes help motivate the party cadre.
Popular among them are: "Haryane ki miti ka sacha saput Chautala se, Aaj desh ka loh purush Om Prakash Chuatala se" (Chautala is Haryana's true son of the soil, Chautala is the iron man of the country) and "Hari Hari Pugree aale ki, sari vote Chautala ki" (all votes are for the green turbaned — Chautala).
A list of caller tunes is available on the party's website and its social networking pages along with the procedure to download them.
Some caller tones like "Ajay, Abhey to Ram Lakshman is jodi se" (Abhay and Ajay are like Lord Rama and Lakshman) conveying the strong bond between Chauatala's elder son Ajay, who is in jail, and younger one Abhay, who is leading the party, are also being circulated among the party workers.
Most of these songs are composed and sung by Haryanvi folk singer Karambir 'Fauji' and his team.
