Chandigarh: By the end of this session, IT infrastructure of government schools in Chandigarh will be upgraded. This will enable students to study on new and faster systems.
The education department had asked for a list of IT infrastructure to be liquidated from all schools, which the schools have given. These include computer screens, CPUs, keyboards, projectors and printers etc.
It will be liquidated by the society for promotion of IT under the IT department of Chandigarh administration.
After this, new IT infrastructure will be purchased through the
GeM portal.
Director, school education Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar said that the need to upgrade IT infrastructure in schools was being felt for a long time but schools could not get new infrastructure without liquidating the old infrastructure.
Therefore, a list of old infrastructure to be liquidated was sought from schools. New infrastructure will be bought from the GeM portal according to the specifications to be finalized by the IT department. Accordingly, the budget will be finalised.
