Amritsar MC's Ward 43 councillor, Inderjit Singh Pandori, visited the family to offer condolences on Tuesday. He said Swarajdeep joined duty as a pilot barely one-and-a-half years ago. He had married two years ago and leaves behind a wife, young son, and elderly parents.
Residents described Swarajdeep as a kind-hearted and sociable young man who always respected elders and made his parents proud. Pandori told media the tragedy was "deeply heartbreaking". "For any parents, losing a young son in such a manner is unbearable," he said.
Another resident, Amardeep Singh, shared that just a few hours before the crash, Swarajdeep had called his family, informing them that he was flying from Ranchi to Delhi and would call again after landing. When the family tried to contact him two hours later, his phone did not connect. Soon after, news channels began flashing reports of the crash, and later Swarajdeep's death was confirmed.
