JALANDHAR: After BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s Instagram story on Gandhi Jayanti caused fresh controversy, former Punjab minister and senior BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia has advised BJP MP Kangana Ranaut to pursue her career in films as politics is not her cup of tea.
“I strongly condemn her statement about Mahatma Gandhi. In her brief political career, she has developed a habit of giving controversial statements.
Earlier BJP president J P Nadda had cautioned her after which she had apologized also,” said Kalia, who is also in-charge of BJP’s membership drive in Punjab.
“I would say politics is not her field. Politics is a serious business, and one should speak after thinking. It will be better if she pursues her political career as it is becoming clear that politics is not her cup of tea. Controversial statements cause trouble for the party and hurt the sentiments of the people also. People have great respect for Gandhi ji and such statements hurt them,” he added.
