Chandigarh: Police have arrested two men in separate anti-crime patrols, recovering a Chinese-made pistol and a knife.
Tactical officers in Sector 8 intercepted Jatin Kumar Chauhan, 25, after he attempted to evade a midnight checkpoint.
A search revealed an unlicensed Norinco CAC-30 pistol loaded with five live rounds.
Separately, Industrial Area police detained Rahul "Chamunda" 33, a habitual offender with seven prior convictions for robbery and assault, after catching him with a concealed combat knife in Sector 29. Both suspects face prosecution under the Arms Act.
