Manipur students association Chandigarh demands justice for victims

CHANDIGARH: The Manipur Students Association Chandigarh (MSAC) expressed its profound shock and outrage at the horrific incident that claimed the lives of six innocent Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Manipur. A protest march was organized by the students body on Monday evening at the Panjab university campus.

On November 11 a group of armed assailants suspected to be Kuki-Zo Narco Terrorists abducted six individuals, including three women and three children, from the Borobekra relief camp in Jiribam, Manipur.

The victims were subjected to unspeakable brutality, including rape and murder. Their bodies were later recovered from a nearby river, bearing the horrific signs of violence. The details of the crime are deeply disturbing and have shaken the conscience of the nation. An eight-year-old girl was subjected to brutal sexual assault, resulting in severe injuries and the loss of an eye. An eight-month-old infant was mercilessly killed. Similarly, a two-and-a-half-year-old boy was found decapitated and dismembered.


While holding a protest march at the Panjab University (PU) campus on Monday, MSAC strongly condemned these heinous acts of violence and demanded swift justice for the victims and their families. “We urge the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice,” said the representative of the student body based in Chandigarh.

Furthermore, MSAC called upon the government to take immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of all IDPs and to provide them with adequate support and rehabilitation.
