BATHINDA: The proposed Saragarhi memorial at Saragarhi Gurdwara in Ferozepur district of Punjab to commemorate the valour of 21 Sikh soldiers against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in one of the greatest last stands in history will be built with red stone from Agra. Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann will lay the foundation stone of the memorial on Tuesday on the 126th anniversary of the iconic battle.
In an allusion to the minaret at Samana, the batttle site, this one will have a 30-foot-high tower over a 4-foot-wide round platform in the centre of the memorial spanning 10,000 square feet.
