CHANDIGARH: New York-based Hofstra University has shown interest in collaborating with Panjab University (PU). A delegation from the university, led by its provost and senior vice president for academic affairs Herman A Berliner, met PU vice chancellor Arun Kumar Grover and other deans of the university on the university campus on Monday.
Hofstra University was founded in 1935 and is located at Hempstead, Long Island, 25 miles east of NYC (USA).
National Minority Commission former chairperson and PU fellow Tarlochan Singh also accompanied the Hofstra delegation, which included dean, Zarb School of Business, Patrick Socci, professor of sociology and president of the International Sociological Association Margaret Abraham and Hofstra Univesity trustee Tejinder Bindra.
Dean research Lalit K Bansal, dean international studies Ramanjit Kaur Johal, University Business School chairman A K Vashisht, Guru Nanak Sikh Studies chairperson Jaspal Kaur Kaang and department of sociology chairperson Kiranpreet Kaur represented PU in the deliberations.
The two sides discussed the areas of mutual interest, while the visiting delegation also invited the PU VC to visit their university.
