Over 100 advocates from Hisar to attend CJI swearing-in ceremony; Justice Surya Kant started practice at Hisar district court

Hisar: A record 136 advocates from the District Bar Association, Hisar, will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Surya Kant as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on Nov 24 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Supreme Court administration has issued a special invitation to the Hisar Bar, along with passes for all 136 advocates.

On Friday, Bar Association officials distributed the special passes and invitation letters to the concerned lawyers at the Bar Library. Bar president Advocate Sandeep Boora and aecretary Advocate Sameer Bhatia said Justice Surya Kant shares a long-standing association with Hisar. He began his legal practice at the Hisar district court in 1984–85, where he worked for nearly six months under Senior Advocate Atmaram Bansal. His rise to the highest judicial office is a moment of exceptional pride for the Hisar legal fraternity.


Bar president Sandeep Boora, secretary Sameer Bhatia, vice president Vikas Poonia, joint secretary Sunil Bhardwaj and treasurer Sunil Sahdev Soni confirmed that all passes issued by the Registrar General of the Supreme Court have now been distributed. A large group of advocates will travel to Delhi on Nov 23 and 24.

Boora added that this marks a "golden chapter" in the history of the Hisar Bar. For members unable to travel to Delhi, the oath-taking ceremony will be screened live on a large LED display on the Bar premises. The Bar is also preparing for special decorations, a havan, a blood donation camp, and distribution of laddus.
