India vs South Africa highlights, 2nd Test Day 3: South Africa tightened their grip on the second Test, finishing Day 3 at 26/0 in their second innings after securing a commanding 288-run lead over India on Monday. Openers Ryan Rickelton (13*) and Aiden Markram (12*) safely negotiated eight overs before bad light halted play, extending the visitors’ overall advantage to 314 runs with two days remaining.
Earlier, India were bowled out for 201 in 83.5 overs, suffering a dramatic batting slide despite starting the day comfortably placed at 9/0. Only Yashasvi Jaiswal (58 off 97 balls) and Washington Sundar (48 off 92) provided notable resistance. Kuldeep Yadav battled hard as well, facing 134 balls for his 19 as he and Washington added a gritty 72-run stand for the eighth wicket after India slipped to 122/7.
However, once Washington fell, the innings quickly folded. Marco Jansen delivered a superb spell to claim 6/48, supported by off-spinner Simon Harmer who returned figures of 3/64.
India went into tea at 102/4 and lost three more in the afternoon session as KL Rahul (22), Sai Sudharsan (15), Dhruv Jurel (0), Rishabh Pant (7), Ravindra Jadeja (6) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (10) all fell cheaply. Once we saw there was bounce and pace in the wicket, we tried to utilise it. Good day for the chaps - myself in particular. The spinners did a really good job when the ball wasn't moving too much. There was a bit of pace and bounce in the wicket, which was nice. We were preparing to field for two days.
Today was just about trying to do the job for the team. I still think it's a good wicket. The ball is starting to turn now. The spinners are definitely going to play a role.

India’s innings never found momentum despite Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 58 and a determined 48 from Washington Sundar. Starting the day at 9 for no loss, the hosts collapsed quickly, slipping to 102 for 4 by tea and losing three more wickets in the second session.
Washington and Kuldeep Yadav put up firm resistance with a 72-run stand for the eighth wicket, but once Washington fell, South Africa wrapped up the innings without much trouble. Kuldeep battled for 19 off 134 deliveries before being dismissed soon after the second new ball was taken.
