Rohtak: The body of a property dealer, Satyawan, was recovered from the JLN canal in Rohtak on Tuesday, four days after his car was found riddled with bullet marks and bloodstains.
Two youths—Manjeet of Bapoda village in Bhiwani and Manish of Bhali village — have been arrested. Superintendent of police Surender Bhoria cited old enmity as the reason, linking the motive to a 2017 murder case in which Satyawan of Khedi Sadh village was the main accused and out on bail.

Police believe the suspects killed Satyawan to avenge the killing of Dharmender, a taxi driver from Khedi Sadh, on New Year's Eve in 2017. The dispute related to Dharmender accusing Satyawan of falsely implicating him in a molestation case filed by his wife.
The SP, however, clarified that the murder had no connection with the Sunder Kala gang, dismissing social media claims linking the case to organised crime.
According to police, Satywan went missing after dropping his brother in Kharkhoda and attending court on Feb 20. His family met the SP the same day and expressed apprehension that he was murdered and his body was disposed of.
