Saini highlights skill push, foreign cooperation dept for youths
Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said the state govt had taken multiple steps to enhance skills and create employment opportunities for youth within Haryana, while also setting up a dedicated ‘foreign cooperation department' to assist those aspiring to study or work abroad.Responding to issues raised by the opposition on the governor's address during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the CM said the foreign cooperation department's website provides information related to employment, education, trade, and investment abroad. In addition, it also lists authorised agents who are permitted to send individuals overseas. It also guides youth on the process of going abroad, the required documentation, and the assistance provided by the govt.
Saini said the govt was taking strict action against agents who send youth abroad through the illegal ‘donkey route'. To curb fraud in the name of sending people abroad and to regulate travel agents, a law had been enacted. The govt is sending youth abroad through legal channels via Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam Limited (HKRN). He added that HKRN received in-principle approval for a recruiting agent licence from the ministry of external affairs. Advertisements in this regard are published by HKRN from time to time. The CM added that the foreign cooperation department and HKRN organised the Panchjanya-2026 programme on Jan 3. Under this initiative, offer letters were issued to 210 youth, granting employment in Dubai. So far, 390 youth sent to Israel in two phases are getting a monthly salary of over Rs 3.38 lakh. He added that recently a demand for 10,000 workers was received from abroad. Through HKRN, advertisements were issued to send 7,600 eligible beneficiaries to Israel and 100 beneficiaries to Oman. The selection process is currently underway. MSID:: 128853912 413 |
