Students, principal quizzed in Janvi case

CHANDIGARH: The students of St Xavier’s School, who were sitting with Janvi and Piyush when the principal saw them in Class XI after school hours, were quizzed by cops on Wednesday. The principal was also questioned by cops over the incident that took place on April 18. According to the school, the students were accompanying Piyush and Janvi to the class when the principal on round scolded them for sitting after school hours in the class together.
The cops also spoke to few of the classmates of Janvi to gather more details about the incident. Since the incident, Piyush has also not attended school.
Sources said that principal Mervin West was also questioned by the cops. While the school authorities claim that falling of Janvi from the school building was an accident, the girl has alleged that she was pushed by the principal from the third-floor of the building. School authorities claimed that today, the school staff and students also went to the private hospital in Mohali, to wish Janvi on her birthday but the parents refused to let them meet her.
