TALWANDI SABO: A day after independent candidate and AAP rebel in Talwandi Sabo bypoll Balkar Sidhu alleged that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Baljinder Kaur was registered as voter in two places, the returning officer has started a probe into the allegation.
As part of the investigation, returning officer Sakattar Singh Bal on Monday called both Baljinder Kaur and Balkar Sidhu to seek relevant documents related to the allegation.

AAP has termed the allegations as baseless.
"The matter is being probed and the documents related to this are being collected, official documents too are being looked into," said the returning officer.
Punjabi singer and independent candidate Balkar on Sunday had accused Baljinder of having registered as voter at house number 272 of her native village Jaga Ram Tirath as voter number 352 and at house number 272A in same village as voter number 354. He had alleged that as voter number 352 Baljinder has shown her father to be Darshan Singh and as voter number 354 as adopted daughter of late Amarjit Singh. Demanding cancellation of Baljinder's nomination papers, he also alleged that she was shown having adopted by Amarjit in March 2005 whereas he (Amarjit) had died in 2002. He said this was being done to usurp three acres of land belonging to late Amarjit in a fraudulent manner. Balkar had produced documents to substantiate his claims.
Baljinder said, "The allegations are baseless and have been made in sheer frustration." AAP Punjab unit observer Jarnail Singh has given a clean chit to Baljinder.
