Thieves assault 2 women, snatch jewellery in Mohali
Mohali: Two women were assaulted and robbed of their jewellery by masked men near the Durali railway bridge under the jurisdiction of Sohana police station.
The victims, identified as Lakhmir Kaur (48), a domestic worker from Durali village, and her acquaintance Satwinder Kaur, were out for an evening walk around 5.30pm when the attack occurred. According to police reports, two unidentified men with their faces covered approached the women on a motorcycle, parked at a distance, and snatched their gold chains and earrings. The women were physically assaulted during the robbery, with both suffering ear injuries that caused bleeding.
The injured women were taken to a nearby hospital by family members. Police have registered a case under Sections 304 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas in an effort to identify the culprits.
