Tiwana cremated

Patiala: Noted Punjabi film director and theatre personality Harpal Tiwana, who died in a road accident near Palampur in Himachal Pradesh, on Sunday, was cremated here at Badungar cremation ground on Tuesday.
MLAs Bir Davinder Singh, Surjit Singh Rakhra, director language department, Madan Lal Hisija, Punjab Women Commission chairperson Surinder Kaur, poet Jigar Jallandhari, singer Gurdass Mann, were among those who attended the cremation.
Deputy commissioner Tejveer Singh laid the wreath on the body of Tiwana on behalf of the Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh. Tiwana was 75 and is survived his wife, a son and a daughter.
