Traffic restrictions for counting day

Panchkula: The Panchkula traffic police have issued a special advisory ahead of the municipal corporation election vote counting at Govt Girls Postgraduate College, Sector 14, on May 13.

The advisory will be in force from 5am to 5pm to ensure smooth and secure arrangements. The road stretch from Valmiki Chowk to the Sector-14 industrial area cut will remain closed to the public, while access from the Sector-12A to Sector-12A/14 dividing road will be restricted.

Only authorised vehicles, election staff and officials on duty will be allowed entry into the restricted zone.

ACP (traffic) Surender Singh said parking for counting staff, police personnel, administrative officers, candidates and counting agents has been arranged at the municipal corporation office in Sector 14. Additional police and traffic personnel will be deployed around the counting centre to regulate traffic and maintain order.

Residents have been advised to use alternative routes and cooperate with authorities to avoid inconvenience.
