CHANDIGARH: Panchkula cops have failed to appear before UT police in connection with a probe into the busting of a gang of vehicle-lifters.
The gang was busted on June 24. Role of Pachkula police came under the scanner when Chandigarh police recovered five vehicles which had earlier been confiscated by Panchkula cops in November 2010.
SI Tarsem Singh of Chandigarh police said notices under Section 91 of CrPC were issued against staff members of police station Kalka and crime branch Panchkula for joining the probe on June 28, but no response had been received from district police till now.
He said Panchkula cops were to appear before the probe agency on June 30.
