Woman cheated by ‘FB friend’

Chandigarh: UT police booked an Ambala resident for allegedly cheating a woman of her gold jewellery, mobile phone and cash after spiking her drink in a Sector 22 hotel.
In her complaint, a 43-year-old woman from the city, alleged that she had met the accused, Sidharth Sharma, a resident of Ambala through Facebook around eight months ago. She said they started chatting and one day, he told her that he was coming to the city and wanted to meet her.She said the accused took her to a hotel. The woman alleged that Sidharth offered her a soft drink in the hotel, after having which she fell unconscious. When she came to, she found that Sidharth was not in the room. On checking, she found that Rs 10,000 cash, a mobile phone, a pair of gold tops and gold rings had been stolen. A case has been registered.
