3-day meet on transgenders to start today

CHENNAI: To create awareness about the transgender (TG) community and sensitise the general public, a three-day conference, 'Mainstreaming Transgenders,' will be held in the city from September 9 to 11. The conference is being organised by Sahodaran, a male sexual health project; Thozhi and the Indian Transgender Initiative (ITI). "We will have discussions with educationists, students, lawmakers, corporate heads and religious groups so that we can have a more inclusive society," says A Jaya, general manager, Sahodaran, who along with P Sudha, founder-president ITI, is organising the programmes.
