A tsunami-like wave of change is certain in Tamil Nadu: Anbumani

CHENNAI: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss, while commenting on the brisk pace of polling, on Thursday claimed that a massive "tsunami-like wave" of anti-incumbency has swept across the state.

In a post on X, Anbumani expressed confidence that the AIADMK-led alliance would head for a historic landslide victory. Expressing his gratitude to the voters, Anbumani said the signs of a regime change were clearly visible on the faces of people emerging from polling booths.





Anbumani recalled his campaign launched ten months ago, during which he predicted that the public’s frustration with the current govt would culminate in an electoral earthquake.

"When I began my journey ten months ago, I saw the seeds of discontent. Today, that has transformed into a tsunami that will sweep the current rulers out of power. The liberation of Tamil Nadu begins today; it will bloom fully on May 4," he said.

He listed several factors that have turned the tide against the DMK-led alliance. He highlighted the "hellish life" experienced by citizens due to recurring sexual violence against women and children, and the unchecked availability of ganja and other drugs were cited as major reasons for public anger.

He pointed to unbearable tax hikes, rising prices and the decline in the agricultural and employment sectors as other major reasons for the voters' desire for change. A systemic collapse in the education and healthcare departments over the last five years has also angered the people.

He extended his heartfelt thanks to the voters, who cast their ballots for the PMK, AIADMK and other alliance partners. He lauded the tireless work of the functionaries and cadres of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

"The people of Tamil Nadu have waited for this day to end their suffering. We will celebrate a complete victory on May 4," he concluded.
