Gang of five hijacks cab at knifepoint

Chennai: A five-member gang forced a cab driver at knifepoint to part with his car at Mangadu on Monday night.
Police have arrested Abdul Hameed alias Aadu, 23 , in this connection.
Police said the victim Selvam, 33, was to pick up a customer who had booked the ride through an app. Since they did not turn up for a long time, he cancelled the trip and drove back to Mangadu.
He stopped his vehicle on the way to relieve himself when a gang of men intercepted him.They took possession of Selvam’s car at knifepoint, pushed him down and fled.
Selvam alerted the police control room. A police patrol team caught hold of Abdul Hameed .
Police are on the lookout for more people in connection with the crime.
