Holiday declared for schools in Chennai and its neighbouring districts due to heavy rain

CHENNAI: Schools in Chennai and its two neighbouring districts will remain closed on Thursday due to heavy rain.

On Wednesday evening, Chennai and its surrounding areas received heavy rain. The IMD also forecast heavy rain on Thursday.
In view of the heavy rain forecast, district collectors of Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur declared holiday to schools on Thursday.

Tiruvallur district has announced holiday for colleges as well.
