CHENNAI: Taxpayers in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry can meet their respective jurisdictional assessing officers and seniors in the income tax department in person to get their grievances resolved as it will observe a grievance redressal month from April 24 to May 22.
"Wherever the department has offices in the state and the Union territory, the senior-most officer and their team will be available to meet with taxpayers and their representatives between 10.30am and 1.30pm on Wednesdays, from April 24 to May 22. These meetings will take place either in the ASK centre or a dedicated space within the office, depending on the availability of the ASK centre. The specific dates for these meetings are April 24, May 1, May 8, May 15 and May 22. This in-person grievance redressal facility is being provided in addition to the existing online grievance redressal mechanism," said the income tax department in a statement.
