Tiruvallur opens innovative road safety park

Tiruvallur district administration has inaugurated a ₹301.60 lakh road safety park within the collectorate complex. The 3.5-acre overgrown land has been transformed into a learning and recreation hub, promoting traffic discipline and practical awareness for children and the public.

Interactive model intersections

Visitors can explore model junctions, traffic signals, and pedestrian lanes designed to teach real-world rules. The park emphasizes safe navigation, accident prevention, and civic responsibility, helping youngsters internalize road safety through hands-on experiences.

Play equipment for children

The park features swings, seesaws, merry-go-rounds, slides, jungle gyms, horizontal bars, and rotators. This combination of play and learning ensures youngsters remain engaged while absorbing lessons in safety and STEM concepts.

Renovated ponds and walking paths

Two on-site ponds were refurbished, with walking tracks encircling them. These spaces offer a serene environment for reflection and exercise, enhancing the park’s recreational appeal while connecting nature with education.

Visual perception and motion experiments

Persistence of vision devices, Newton’s colour disc, wave motion demos, and straight bar-parabola models teach motion, optics, and physics phenomena interactively. Students gain hands-on exposure that reinforces classroom lessons in a lively setting.

Energy, optics, and time models

The park includes devices like the circus of energy, revolving periscope, sundial, world time globe, vortex model, and angular momentum setup. These offer multi-disciplinary learning, combining fun with essential scientific principles.

Science learning through touch and feel

Thirteen interactive science models have been installed, allowing children to explore physics concepts practically. Students can experiment with motion, gravity, energy, and light through immersive, hands-on activities, fostering STEM learning.
