CHENNAI: MDMK headquarters secretary Durai
Vaiko participated in the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' taken out by
Congress leader
Rahul Gandhi at Hyderabad on Wednesday.
In a social media post, Durai Vaiko said he marched along with Rahul Gandhi for about two hours covering nine kms, accompanied by Congress MP Jothimani.
"I interacted with Rahul Gandhi for more than 30 minutes during the march.
We had breakfast together and then had another interaction that lasted for 45 minutes about
Tamil Nadu politics, national politics and the rise of right wing forces across the globe," Durai Vaiko said.
Durai Vaiko said the he shared his views on how right wing forces exploit religious and communal feelings of the masses for their political growth and how it was a challenging task for democratic forces to defeat right wing elements.
Rahul Gandhi responded saying that though right wing elements have grown powerful across the country, Tamil Nadu remains a impenetrable fort for right wing, offering a ray of hope for rest of the country.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi inquired about the health of MDMK president Vaiko, he said.
