KRISHNAGIRI: Call it an error of the electronic ticketing machine or on the part of the Tamil Nadu State Trasport Corporation bus conductor, a passenger was shocked to get a ticket to Dubai with a fare of Rs 10,000 at Bhavani on Monday.
P Damadoran boarded a Coimbatore-Bengaluru bus at Bhavani Bypass to reach Hosur with his friend M Raja. The fare for Hosur from Bhavani is Rs 150.
But Damadoran was shocked when he looked at the ticket issued by the conductor after paying the fare.
It was printed on the ticket as: Bhavani Bypass to Dubai, UAE (see photo). Even more comical part was the fare, it said: Rs 10,000 (per male passenger).
Damadoran posted the ticket in social media that went viral, evoking sarcastic comments.
TNSTC-Salem division officials, however, later clarified that it was a software error in the ticketing machine.
