Teen run over by truck, dies on Puzhal bypass road in Chennai

Chennai: An 18-year-old college student died after a trailer truck ran over him on the Puzhal bypass road. The Red Hills traffic investigation wing registered a case.Police said Mohammad Ali Imtiaz, 18, of Sharma Nagar, Vyasarpadi, was a second-year engineering college student. He was riding his two-wheeler from his college towards Tambaram, when a trailer truck coming hit him from behind on the bypass road near the Puzhal toll plaza.
In the impact, he lost balance and fell on the road. The front wheel of the truck ran over him killing him on the spot.On information, personnel from the Red Hills traffic investigation wing reached the scene and sent the body to Government Stanley Hospital for postmortem. Truck driver Senthilkumar, 46, of Kallakurichi district was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
