Three dead in road accident

Chennai: Three people, including a cab driver, a mother and her child were killed in a road accident at Alamathy near Red Hills on Sunday after their car crashed into a median. The father and another child escaped with severe injuries.
The deceased were identified as J Usharani, 48, her daughter, J Sai Monisha, 4, and rental car driver, Anees, 30. Police said Usharani lived with her husband, Jayavel, 52 and two children in Tiruvallur.On Sunday, the family had hired a cab for Chintadripet to visit Usharani's parents, when the accident occurred.
While moving along Red Hills-Tiruvallur high road, the driver crashed the car into a median. In the impact, the three died on the spot. Passerby rescued the other two occupants and sent them to a hospital. A probe is on.
