Two-language policy is fundamental to TVK, says Tamil Nadu minister Rajmohan

CHENNAI: Two-language policy is fundamental not only to Tamil Nadu, but also the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, school education minister Rajmohan told mediapersons, after his first review meeting, on Monday.

Replying to a query on the implementation of PM Shri schools in Tamil Nadu, the minister said that the subject was brought up for discussion at the meeting. "We have to assess whether the policies align with the goals of TN. We have only now conducted a first meeting. A decision will be taken," he said.





He reiterated that the policy of the state favoured mother tongue for communicating among oneselves and English for communicating with the world.

On the reopening of schools, the minister said that instructions have been given to ensure that all books and uniforms reach students on day 1 of school. "More decisions pertaining to the education department will be taken in subsequent meetings," he added.
