Chennai:
Puducherry chief minister N Rangasamy, who won the Union Territory's assembly elections in two constituencies, resigned from Thattanchavady on Sunday by handing over his resignation letter to Puducherry assembly secretary J Dayalane at his residence.
He retained his seat in Mangalam constituency, where he won by a margin of 7,000 votes. He won Thattanchavady by 4,500 votes.
Dayalane told TOI Uppalam MLA A Anbalagan will take charge as pro-tem Speaker on Monday and the oath-taking ceremony of MLAs will be on May 20.
