Will resolve residents’ issues at Chennai’s Thousand Lights, says MLA and Tamil Nadu assembly Speaker J C D Prabhakar
Chennai: Sewage issues faced by residents of Avvai Shanmugam Salai at Thousand Lights constituency will be resolved in a month, said MLA and assembly Speaker J C D Prabhakar on Saturday. After visiting several areas in his constituency, he told reporters that several welfare works will be undertaken under the ‘1,000 works for Thousand Lights Constituency' proposal. "Tomorrow, we will visit sports grounds to understand the needs of sportspersons and undertake the necessary work. Arrangements will be made to establish sports arenas. Welfare associations will be brought together ward-wise and involved," said Prabhakar, and told officials to ensure proper road facilities without disrupting traffic flow. He further said that buildings at MK Radha Nagar and Sivasanmugapuram were old, and recalled residents' demands for new housing. The MLA added, "Efforts will be taken to demolish the old buildings and allot new houses to the existing residents. Work will commence shortly."
