Baby girl chokes on breastmilk, dies
ERODE: A 41-day-old baby girl died after choking on breastmilk near Bhavanisagar in Erode district on Tuesday night. The deceased baby has been identified as Krishmitha, daughter of D Nagaraj and Saranya of Paguthampalayam. Police said the couple had two daughters – Krishika, 2, and Krishmitha, who was born on Nov 27, 2025. Krishmitha had been suffering from cold and cough for two weeks. The couple had taken her to a private hospital. Around 8.30pm on Tuesday, Saranya breastfed Krishmitha and made her sleep next to her. Around 11.30pm, Saranya woke up and noticed that Krishmitha was not breathing. The couple immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Sathyamangalam where doctors confirmed that the baby had died. The Bhavanisagar police registered a case and initiated an inquiry.
