Private aesthetics clinic in Coimbatore temporarily shut down for lack of qualified experts

Coimbatore: A private aesthetics clinic at Vadavalli was temporarily shut down on Friday for lacking qualified experts to perform hair transplantation, and running the clinic without a proper licence.Following the complaint filed by the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) against the clinic, an inspection was conducted at the clinic on April 29 by the health officials. The inspection report revealed that clients were being treated in the clinic without a Tamil Nadu Clinical Establishments Act Certificate. The person present had no qualifications to perform hair transplantation. Based on the report, a notice was issued to the clinic on Friday. A senior official from the district public health services said, "The clinic has been temporarily closed. Meanwhile, they have already applied for the TNCEA certification, which is in process, and until then, the clinic will remain closed." A representative of the clinic said, "We have made every effort to apply for the certification and are still in the process. We have shut down temporarily."
