Two killed in head-on motorcycle collision near Dharmapuri

Dharmapuri: A youth and an elderly man lost their lives after two motorcycles collided head-on near Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district on Thursday night.The deceased were identified as Vignesh, 25, a resident of Pappambadi, and Ganesan, 60, from Mullikkaadu.According to police, Vignesh and his friend Manikandan, 25, had gone to the Samiyapuram Kootroad area on a motorcycle on Thursday evening. While returning home, their motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle ridden by Ganesan at Pappireddipatti. In the impact, Ganesan was thrown off his motorcycle and died on the spot.Passers-by and locals rescued Vignesh and Manikandan, who were severely injured. They were immediately taken to the Pappireddipatti Government Hospital. However, Vignesh succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Manikandan has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.The Pappireddipatti police have registered a case.
