Haridwar: Eight dummy candidates were caught appearing in the Class 10 Hindi board examination at Govt Inter College, Salempur, in Haridwar on Tuesday. The school administration handed over seven students, including four girls, to the police, while one of the accused boys managed to flee the premises.
Block education officer Bhanu Pratap Sharma told TOI, "The examination centre at Govt Inter College was hosting students enrolled at Savitri Shiksha Sadan. During routine verification in the examination hall, invigilators detected discrepancies in the students' admit cards. The photographs affixed on the cards did not match official records and appeared to have been replaced, despite being attested by the school where the candidates were enrolled."
