Doon Literature fest kicks off: Sahitya, cinema & samaaj in focus
Dehradun: The sixth edition of the Dehradun Literature Festival began on Friday at the Doon International School, with sessions on ‘sahitya, cinema, and samaaj', the theme for this year. The fest aims to bring together voices from literature, art, and cinema to inspire intellectual dialogue. Attendees were privvy to discussions featuring panelists such as Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, celebrated author Jerry Pinto, and emerging poet Anhad Kahsyap. The sessions spanned a variety of topics, including mindfulness, historical narratives, storytelling, and the influential role of cinema in society. The day ended on a poetic note with the verses of Wasim Barelvi.
"We intend to provide a platform for intellectual and cultural enrichment, and inspiring the youth through such platforms," said Samraant Virmani, the festival's founder and producer.
