Rudrapur: Five members of a family were injured after a gas leak allegedly triggered a fire in their house in Ward No. 8 near Chamunda Temple in Rudrapur on Wednesday morning.
The injured have been identified as Devki, 50, Anita, 30, Sangeeta Devi, 21, three-year-old Parul and another woman.
Police and locals shifted them to the district hospital after an emergency call was received on Dial 112 around 8 am. “All patients are out of danger, though some have suffered burn injuries ranging from 15 to 40 per cent. Treatment is ongoing,” a doctor said.
Fire officer Mahesh Chand said the fire was brought under control within a short time. He urged people to turn off the regulator in case of a gas leak, avoid using electrical switches and ensure proper ventilation.
