Police launches verification drive after minor girl’s kidnap

UTTARKASHI: District police administration has launched an intense verification campaign at Yamuna valley, after the kidnapping incident of a minor girl in Naugaon region of Uttarkashi district. In past two days, police have verified as many as 150 outsiders living and working in Naugaon, Badkot and Purola regions of the district.
Sources said that every year many people from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar and other states come to Uttarkashi to work as labourers, fruit and vegetable sellers and scrap dealers.
SP Dadan Pal and SDM Purola Puran Singh Rana have also appealed to the people to verify the identity of their tenants to avoid such incidents.
