Gaon Waallon, Sheef Minishter ki jai! The big newsh today ish that Dilli ke peeney sheeney walley can be out for an hour later. No bouncers throwing you out by the collar, no doors slammed in the face as the clock shtrikes 11.
It''s shelebration time from October 1. (hic)

From this weekend then, clubs, bars and restaurants in the Capital will not be obliged to show us the door till the magic hour. We have till midnight to guzzle. Till 1 am, if we have the inclination, time and moolah. Bars in starred hotels will serve liquor till that hour and if you still want your pint, there is the bar at the Indira Gandhi International Airport which will remain open for 24 hours.

More! More! Seven days a year each of these joints can remain open an hour longer. That''s 1 am for the bars and restaurants, 2 am for the hotels. We can''t give more than 24 hours to the IGIA bar though.

Let''s all thank the dilli sarkar for this liquid gift. The cabinet had cleared the extra hours of drinking bliss earlier, but the sarkar thought us regulars would be up to too much mischief we got too much of a good thing. So the shopaholics got their fix first, with markets remaining open till later. And now this. It was worth the wait. Sharkar ki jai. (hic).

No more thoughts of soosait, soosait, while envying Bangalore and Mumbai their happy hours. No more refusals, no more hanging out with thirsty eyes. No more landing up at the intrepid dhabawallah''s and swigging from under the table.

So all you naysayers that slammed Delhi for having no nightlife, eat your heart out. We can party sharty too. Arrey Gaon waallon, suna tumne bhaaeyon, sarkar bhi tayyar, bar bhi tayyar. Is liye marna cancel.
