NEW DELHI: Cracking down on violation of
dust pollution
control norms during
Graded Response Action Plan

), South Delhi Municipal Corporation has issued a fine of Rs 5 lakh on private contractors working on the Pragati Maidan redevelopment project, among other contractors.
“The central zone has slapped fines on L&T Construction Infrastructure for Pragati Maidan redevelopment project, DJB at Delhi Gate, BSES Rajdhani discom at Nehru Place and Godrej construction at Okhla,” SDMC spokesperson Radha Krishna said.
Track the pollution level in your citySDMC commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said that the civic body has zero tolerance against air pollution. “Patrolling teams have been constituted to take instant action against violators, including erring government and related institutions.”
Bharti added that the deputy commissioners of four zones have been told to ensure that there is no leniency this festive season. “It has been made clear that erring officials will not be spared,” he added.
SDMC had issued 108 challans on Friday and Saturday for violations related to garbage burning, emission and dust
pollution from construction activities, C&D waste dumping, road dust and air polluting industries.
