NEW DELHI: Ankit, the shooter of gangster Rohit Godara, was injured and arrested by
Delhi Police’s Special Cell during an encounter in Jahangirpuri, officials said on Thursday.
A team from the Special Cell of the Northern Range shot Ankit in the leg when he arrived to meet a friend in the locality.
According to police, Ankit had received orders from Rohit Godara to open fire on a businessman for extortion.
“The suspect was intercepted by our team in Jahangirpuri and sustained a leg injury during the encounter,” said a Delhi Police Special Cell official.
"He had received orders from Rohit Godara to open fire on a businessman for extortion," official added.
Ankit has been taken to the hospital for treatment and further questioning, and investigations into the extortion are ongoing.
