NEW DELHI: A 14-year-old student was stabbed to death outside a government school in Shakarpur, Delhi, on Friday following a heated altercation. Police have detained seven suspects in connection with the incident.
The victim, identified as Ishu Gupta, was attacked outside Rajkiya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya No. 2 during the dispersal of students after extra classes, according to an official statement.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a dispute between Ishu and another student escalated into violence.
The accused, accompanied by 3-4 associates, confronted Ishu outside the school gate, where one of them stabbed him in the right thigh, police said.
A swift response team, including personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Squad and Special Staff, was mobilized to apprehend the suspects. "The body has been preserved for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway," officials added.
