NEW DELHI: A four-year-old boy who had been kidnapped seven months ago was rescued by the police from Sikandrau, Aligarh, on Thursday.

he told the police that akashad been last seen playing outside the house. thougthe police launched a searcoperation, akascould not be found. last month, si mahesmeena, the police post incharge at isbt, anand vihar, learnt that a boy who had been kidnapped from delhi was living somewhere in etah, up. meena searched the police records and showed his informer photographs of children who had been reported missing. the informer identified akasas the child who was living in etah. however, he did not have the exact address where the boy was. the police questioned the missing boy's neighbours and found that one of them, kailasho devi (50), a maid servant, had relatives in etah. when she was questioned, kailasho told the police that her brother, shriram, was living in a village in etadistrict. a police team was sent to shriram's house but found that he had sold the property and moved to sikandrau, aligarh. the police were finally able to rescue the child from sikandrau. the police have arrested kailasho, shriram and a third accomplice identified as rajkumar. police said shriram, despite having married twice, did not have any children. since he desperately wanted a child, his sister, kailasho, allegedly kidnapped akash.
