Man Arrested in Delhi for Sexual Assault of Minor in NE Delhi

New Delhi: A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in northeast Delhi.

Police said the girl recently reported that she was assaulted over several months. The survivor and the accused knw each other for about a year and had met back when she and the man’s sister resided as tenants in the same building.

A police officer said the girl lived in the building with her mother, and the man visited his sister frequently during that period. She later moved out from that house, the officer said.

In her statement to the police, the complainant alleged that the man filmed objectionable videos of her, used the footage to blackmail her, and repeatedly sent her unsolicited messages on social media platforms. Police said the claims are being verified.

A case has been registered under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the man has been arrested.
