Merc hit and run: Police want father's bail cancelled
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday moved a trial court seeking cancellation of bail granted to the father of the teenager, who was allegedly involved in the Mercedes hit-and-run case. In their plea, the police said that Manoj Aggarwal should not be out on bail as it would hamper their investigation.
Police said Aggarwal, who was booked for abetting the crime, might try to influence the case because most of the prosecution witnesses were known to him.

The plea was filed through Delhi Police's special prosecutor Atul Shrivastava and would be heard by a sessions court on Saturday.
The police argued that the joint questioning of the teenager and his father was not yet over.
On April 10, a duty metropolitan magistrate had granted bail to Aggarwal after he spent nearly two days behind the bars. Aggarwal was granted relief on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
According to sources, cops are likely to question the bail granted to Aggarwal on technical aspects.
They may argue that a magisterial court does not have the power to grant bail in cases of serious offences.
In a first-of-its-kind move, the police had on April 8 arrested Aggarwal on the charge of abetment to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Investigators had found that Aggarwal, despite knowing that his minor son had caused a road accident earlier, gave the vehicle's key to him.
The teenager, who turned 18 four days after the incident, had run over 32-year-old Sidharth Sharma, with his father's Mercedes car in the Civil Lines area on April 4.
